SOCIAL MEDIA FOR STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS WORKSHOP

CONTENT
Increasingly schools are looking to support students in developing the knowledge, skills and qualities to be creators of social change and jobs of the future. Social media has an important role to play in enabling these young entrepreneurs to communicate, collaborate and connect effectively. We work with student entrepreneurs to help them leverage social media to achieve their enterprise objectives.

FORMAT
Our 90 minute workshops are highly interactive – we recommend no more than 30 students per session to ensure a quality learning experience. All students need access to a device and internet connection to enable them to work online during the workshop.

FACILITATORS
Our experienced workshop facilitators have first-hand experience in using social media to build businesses through research, branding, story-telling and connecting with prospective ambassadors, mentors, investors, customers, volunteers and partners.

OUTCOMES
At the end of the workshop, students will have:

  • an understanding of the importance of social listening
  • tips to establish an online presence, find influencers and build networks
  • knowledge on different content types and a content plan
  • techniques to build a community for collaboration and participation
  • ability to use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn for business

 

LINKEDIN WORKSHOP

CONTENT
LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network. Currently with over 400 million members, it ranks higher than most other social networks on Google. No other social media platform offers students the same potential for building their personal brand and connecting globally with prospective employers, mentors or influencers.

We work with students to create their LinkedIn profile and develop the skills to leverage the platform for researching opportunities and making connections.

Our 90 minute Linkedin workshops are highly interactive – we recommend no more than 30 students per session to ensure a quality learning experience. All students need access to a device and internet connection to enable them to work online during the workshop.

FACILITATORS
As LinkedIn Advocates, our facilitators know the importance of LinkedIn for students to research, connect with and attract future employers. They have worked with employers internationally and bring a depth of knowledge and experience around how the platform is best used by students to achieve their study and career goals .

OUTCOMES
At the end of the workshop, students will have:

  • a complete basic LinkedIn profile and tips for best practice
  • knowledge on how to post and share content
  • skills to research universities, courses, companies and jobs
  • techniques to find and follow people and employers of interest
  • tips to make connections and build a network
